correct location of files

Is there a correct location for games to be installed.

I am trying to install Westnoth from source but I´m not sure of the best location.

It also requires a number of programs to be installed as well. What is the correct location for other support programs eg G++.

Thanks for your help.

Kevin

doom3 and quake3 defaults to /usr/local/games but /home should be fine if you're the only one playing the game, i guess.
