Connecting to Internet provider using 4G modem

I have a dual-boot system Windows 7 professional/Linux Mint Cinnamon.
On the Windows side I connect through the Internet provider's 4G modem connected to my computer.
I called the provider and he told me to use the Synaptic Software Manager to find a program called WINE that will somehow use the Windows side to get me the internet service.
Under Linux I entered the Synaptic Graphic Software Manager and was told that it is installed but I cannot get it to run in any shape or form. By the way, I found the WINE package but I cannot install it because I do not have internet under Linux.
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Best regards

What happens when you try to connect to the internet on the Linux side?

Hi...

Who is your provider and what is the brand and model (and model number) of your 4G modem?

Regards...

I'd go down the lazy route and get a 4G Mobile WiFi device from your provider then just configure Win and Lin to connect to the WiFi.

Actually his lazy ass I'm not really going to do my job solution for you is not actaully a solution to connect to the internet using windows through Linux using wine.

I'd find a different provider for one, and send his boss a letter as to why you left them. poor tech suppose and drop a name too.

then try and do what the other suggested go wifi if you can't go cat5 hard wire off a router from cable to get internet. Though you could get a dual router too cat5 / wifi
gives you better options then you could pratice installing Linux off a network

I have plugged in a few usb 4G modems in Debian and other distro's and they work fine.

I guess you could attempt using wine if you wish.

If we knew more about this modem, we might have a guess.

the problem is that I am using the telephone company's (ENTEL) proprietary 4G modem in Bolivia. Technical people at the institution are helping me. Their modem is compatible with Ubuntu. They have connected successfully with Ubuntu. Linux Mint seams incompatible. We got to the point that the computer recognizes one of the 4G modems that we tried but when we wish to find the executable file (their file) that would install the Internet software, we can't find it or it simply does not respond. This coming week they will give me the final veredict. Of course I could purchase their modem-wifi combo and be done with it, but I can wait to get to a place with wifi and connect.

you haven't given us any useful info about the modem!
is it a usb modem? then post the output of "lsusb", at the very least, to get a clear device description.

many 4g modems use the usb connection only to charge and provide connectivity by creating a wifi hotspot.
are you sure your 4g modem doesn't work like this?

iirc, mint uses networkmanager; have you tried creating a new connection? either wifi or mobile broadband?
have you looked in networkmanager logs/errors, accessible through gui iirc?

Dear ondoho, first let me apologize for not mentioning that I am dealing with a USB modem whose characteristics are completely unknown to me. This one connects directly to a USB port in the computer and has no wifi capabilities. As I said before, we were able to connect with ENTEL's wifi at their central office, but not through the 4G modem as I wish. I'll pursue this matter further this coming week. Thanks for your suggestions. Best regards.

simply using this as a search term gives some relevant-looking results. it should get you started.
actually, this almost looks like a solution.
