configure mail server to allow users access company mail from any place with internet


I am new to linux,.I would like to have mail users access their mail on the company mail server from anywhere they can access internet. I need help on the mail server configuration that will help me do that cuz now they can only send mail when connected to the company LAN. pliz help me guys figure this out.

You need to furnish more details in terms of what is the setup - OS, MTA, authentication module etc.

You must to configure a mail server,for example:
posfix + dovecot-imap + squiremail(webmail)

java socket

You will basically need a static IP. Make your email server accessible thru that IP. That should provide access to emails even remotely.

Alternatively, if you want more secure setup, deploy VPN for remote users. Then they can work as if they are connected to local lan.
