I think your work is very simple....Just make sure that your two PC can ping each other....( windows and linux )......set the pop3 and smtp server address of your ms outlook as the linux PC's IP....If the user is authorized at your linux PC....you will be able to check email through your LAN....
I have installed a postfix+courier-imap mail server on mandrake 9
it works very good on webmail (with squirel), but i can't make it work with pop3
it works telnet localhost from the server, but if i try telnet server_name 110 from another computer it does not work
and when i try to download with outlook express it sais:
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: '192.168.0.1 (1)', Server: '192.168.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"
anybody can help me??
thanks
ioana
