Question command to restart services


after making a change to a config file like ssh_config what is the command to restart the sshd service? (I have redhat 9)

Code:
/sbin/service sshd restart
by the way ssh_config is for the client, sshd_config is the config file for the daemon.

and if "/sbin/service" doesnt exist? ("service" bin doesnt exist at all)
i am using debian 3.0r2

which package i have to install?
