Keyboard and mouse services, how to restart

We have some linux servers that sit in our data center. They sit on a huge KVM and we are moving to an even bigger KVM system. This will require us to remove and plug in new cables. We have moved a few (Windows) box over to the new KVM but have had to reboot them because the keyboard and mouse no longer work. Is there a command in linux that will allow me to restart the services so I do not have to reboot the servers. I am trying to prove a point with the uptime on these boxes (298 days and counting) and would like to avoid a reboot. These linux boxes do not run X and eveything is PS/2. Redhat 6.2 and 7.2 are distributions in use. Thanks
