I'm afraid the answer is no. iTunes is only available for Windows and MacOS. You can try running it under WINE, as suggested above, but it doesn't work very well like that and you probably won't be happy with the results.
So, as YesItsMe suggests, you should look for Linux software that has similar functionality.
As Honest Abe so eloquently expressed it, for more information you should search the internet for iTunes Linux.
for Apple being a "linux" based type system, no, iTunes does not work in Linux, and I have heard it will not even work in wine. I have not gone through whatever needs to be gone through to verify that part of it, instead I keep a copy of windows on my hdd.
Distribution: Currently: OpenMandriva. Previously: openSUSE, PCLinuxOS, CentOS, among others over the years.

@OP, macOS is a UNIX based system, and Linux distro's are Unix-like systems but not "pure" UNIX systems. Therefore you can't expect a app written for macOS to work on Linux, anymore than you can expect a Windows app to run natively on Linux - it won't.
MacOS also uses the "Mach-O" executable, being one reason (among others) why Mac executables won't work on Linux.
Hello all. First let me just clarify that I have STFW-- in fact, that's how I got here. Plus, I feel a little stupid having to STFW to get here. I could have come here first.
From what I've gathered so, iTunes can be run on at least Ubuntu 18.04.
I've purchased an iphone 6 second hand and after getting it charged, I've found that the screen is locked. I've been told that I can connect it to i
Tunes to unlock it and that all Apple Store have an app to do that with. But where I live (with non-essential businesses being closed) I can't do that. I'm willing to give WINE a shot, but I'm presently using an old computer without much resources and not enough space to install a hypervisor and run windows or mac. So before I install WINE, etc., can anyone tell me whether or not that would work for me.
Also, does anyone know of any apps that I can use instead of iTunes to accomplish this goal?
There are, of course, stores that will jailbreak iphones, etc., but I should be able to do small stuff like that myself.
Any and all consideration will be appreciated.
Thanksxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Probably through wine (a sort of Windows emulator):

iTunes is a media player developed by Apple Inc, that allows you to download, organize, and play media on your system as well as sync it to other devices. iTunes is available for downloading and using on Windows and Mac, but it is yet not available in Ubuntu or any other Linux distributions.
If you simply want to copy music to/from the iphone you should be able to use the App Store on the iphone to download 'VLC for mobile' and use that if you have VLC installed on Ubuntu. You will need the IP of the iphone and you should then be able to access it from the web browser on Ubuntu by entering the iphone IP in the address bar. The link below has an explanation. It's a bit dated and the interface you see on a newer system will be different. I use this on 18.04 w/no problems.
I don't recommend using something built for Apple computers on a Linux machine. If you want a music player, there are tons of free and open-source options. I use cmus, which is a command-line player that handles most audio files thrown at it.
Distribution: Ubuntu based stuff for the most part

Hello Randymanme, Since you need iTunes to unlock the phone, I don't think there is any app out there, aside from maybe some hacking tools, that will do it.
iTunes will run with Wine as noted by others, but not sure if it will be able to talk to the phone over USB. Only way to know is to try, so install Wine first, then download the Windows version of iTunes. When you click on the install file, if Wine does not start then you can right click on the file select 'open with'.
Try installing the Winetricks app also. It might help get iTunes working better.

Reason: add winetricks

That would be iMyFone LockWiper 4.0
But, alas, I haven't used it, yet. I want to be sure that the iPhone 6 I bought isn't something that someone had stolen or that they lost and wan't it back. I guess it's empathy going on in my heart because all of the phones and computers that I've lost or that were stolen, I still want back. So I'm going to have to go to an Apple Store and check up my concerns.

Reason: Add more detail
I decided to follow advice given in this thread and try W.I.N.E. and Winetricks. But before I did, I was having some difficulties with what was my daily driver at the time [Linux Mint 19.2 (which at that time was on the Optiplex 960 and which at that time was on the 160 GB hdd that I currently have installed on the HP Z400 Workstation) see my signature], that I thought would be cleared up if I upgraded it to 19.3.
But after upgrading, I discovered that W.I.N.E. would not install on Linux Mint 19.3 (even though it would install on 19.2) because of dependency issues. So, ultimately, I bought a new (to me) computer off of Craigslist, second-hand -- the HP Z400 Workstation. My intentions were to install a couple of fresh Linux operating systems on it and run Windows on a hypervisor (now having plenty of bare metal resources to do so effectively for my needs).
But, now I have another problem (about which I'm going to have to begin a new thread) -- the HP Z400 will not boot a Linux operating system from USB or DVD (at least not any that I've so far attempted). And after I switched out hard drives, it will only boot one of the two operating systems on the hard drive from my old computer. But I'm okay with having a new project to work on.
Cheers and Thank you
