Question Awstat is dropping all records

Hi,

I am using awstat for a website. It's working fine. On the webserver I made a new virtual host for the same website with some addition in URL. I made a separate log file for this URL and tried to process it also in awstat but for it's log file awstat is dropping all records.

On webserver log format is same for both logs files. On awstat the config file is same for both logs except the log path line of course .

Why awstat isn't able to process the same log format with the same config file what is working for the previous logs

Hi,

I have just configured awstat for analysing 2 log files, and it works OK. Maybe if you post the key config options (LogFile, DirData), listing of your DirData directory and command you use to generate statistics - someone would help.

when you call awstats.pl are you specifying the config to pickup?

# perl /usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=<VHOST NAME> -update

parameters from working config file

LogFile="/usr/local/awstats/logresolvemerge.pl /usr/local/apache/logs/webstats_log_portal_* |"
LogType=W
LogFormat=1
UseFramesWhenCGI=1
LogSeparator=" "
DirData="/var/lib/awstats"
DNSLookup=2
DirCgi="/cgi-bin"
AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=1
AllowFullYearView=3
BuildHistoryFormat=text
BuildReportFormat=html

The new file is copy of this file with just the path of new log file

LogFile="/usr/local/awstats/logresolvemerge.pl /usr/local/apache/logs/webstats_log_new_portal_* |"

Look what files are created in your DirData.

Check the command you use for generation of statistics, as advised by rjliebenberg.

Post the whole output of awstats.pl when it says it drops all records.

This issue was resolved. The log format on the app server was altered. Thanks
