apt-get and synaptic??


with apt-get remove foo --purge -y you remove all the files and config right?? but if you use synaptic and just remove it wont do the same thing it just removes the bin?? and bin is the = of m$ .exe right??

If you are comfortable zipping around in the command line, I wouldn't feel any particular need to use the GUI tool ( synaptic ) . I tend to use dpkg -P < package-name > and I'm not even sure about synaptic, but it probably has different configuration levels.

Bin files are the executables but comparing them to ms reminds me of our " judicial system " where jurors are picked from the accused persons peirs. That means you have been reduced to the equal of a homicidal maniac.

ok but I needed a point of reference and it was the easiest ..even if it was the lowest common denominator..and Im not real good with the cli as Im m$ impaired hence the question
