ADSL on linux

Hello,

I'm running knoppix on with a live CD on my laptop. I want to to connect to the internet with my ADSL router but don't quite know where the settings are and how easy they are to set up.

I have a wireless ADSL router (netgear). will it be possible to establish a wireless connection?

If you have a running local router, then this is nothing to do with ADSL whatsoever. knoppix will boot by dhcp by default, but you will need to associate with you AP first. use iwconfig to set your essid and any passwords you require. Then just run "pump -i eth0" to pick up an address

The config stuff for network cards is usually found under the knoppix penguin logo on the task bar - all I ever had to do was to put in the IP addresses and bingo - I have fixed ones, dunno if it's gonna be any more difficult for dhcp (dynamic addresses).
