adsl


right i have installed slackware and i was trying to get my adsl working

i have a zoom pci adsl modem
a realtek ethernet card

in windows the adsl uses pppoA instead of pppoe

any help would be appreciated

You will certainly need a driver for this. It would appear this may have a Conexant chip (mentioned on a translated Italian forum which was none too good) further info on this is available here . Check that it is Connexant based (may have Connexant label on the chip on the board) first.

hmmm they were some help but they were both for mandarake and rh am using slackware

The only non-std linux drivers are the Tigris ones, all the rest will be available in your distro. If you want to save yourself a lot of trouble get yourself a cheap ethernet based modem/router.
