2Wire Homeportal and Linux :)

Hey, searched the forums and no one really seems to be able to answer this on any previous threads, so I will post mine.

I just installed linux this morning, yes I am that much of a newbie, lol. I really just need internet access so I can have access to aol instant messenger.. so I need help. I have my 2wire Homeportal hooked up to a usb port in the back of my dell... is there anyway I can get it to configure so I have internet access? How do I go about doing this...

Topologi Linux? I have no idea, under Red Hat 8+ you would use the hardware browser and look in the USB section. IIRC there is a little command line tool you can use as well, but I don't use any USB devices so am rather rusty.

You will need a driver for it, google for it in Windows. I've not heard of 2wire before.
