I'm trying to remote administer a linux box (from an XP box) through telnet on a 192.168.0.* network. I'm assuming I need to setup some sort of telnet server, but I can't find any details of how to do it anywhere. I'm running RH9 on a Celeron. Can anyone help?
I would also suggest putty for the Windoze client. I use putty and ssh.
I believe ssh is the default setup on RH distro's.
You can go to your RedHat menu (That's what I call it, you know the redhat in the bottom left hand corner), select System Settings -> services and look in there and you should see sshd ticked(checked).
