using rs232 with linux


allo everyone....can somebody out there help a friend of mine with this problems?

he is a newbie with this linux....and his teacher gave hin an assignment to do some data transfer with linux and rs 232 cable(i dun know whether this can be categorized as a networking!!!)so....he asked me how to make the suitable setting to the computer(for ur info,he used mandrake 10.0) to send a text file between 2 computers that used linux operating system?

i hope you guys can help me and friend of mine...thank you very much...

the 2nd hit on "rs232 linux" is http://www.ontrak.net/linux.htm, it gives sources (in C) and explanations about emitting/receiving through serial port
