Use linux box as an RS232 terminal? (n00b question)

'evening all!

Here's the situation: I have the serial console port of a managed switch (Networx BaseSwitch 2401F) connected to a serial port on my computer.
Here's the question: How do I get to the switch console?

I'm sure this is *ULTRA-SIMPLE* but it's a first for me...

Since I find minicom a bit of a pain to configure I prefer the Serial Terminal Linux floppy.
Boots straight into a working serial connection.
