Sorry, I should have said this in a totally different way.
My current task is to use com1(RS-232) serial port to interface and communicate with
a SBC. SBCs are embedded computers.I wonder Linux contain any header files; like(#include <linux/io.h> and so forth that support users to develop Embedded system applications. maybe some of the headers under some directories I don't know about. Hope this be clearer. I don't know how to start....
Thanks
Jack

I would start off searching for serial port programming howtos like:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Serial-Pro...WTO/index.html
Just google for additional information.
Are you asking how to write an application on the SBC or how to talk to it via linux?
Are you looking for specialized communications or just something similar to Hyperterminal in windows? If so you can use minicom which is a console application.

Hi Mike,
I am just looking for headers and examples to make an app. for the SBC. It was like a loop. First, I started off with the PC. I used Linux to create an app., then cross compiled to be run on the SBC, then downloaded to it thru RS232.
, next I used hyperterminal to get the result thru a router. What I am looking for is just headers to get me started. Thanks a lot

Checkout the examples. I think termios.h might be what you are looking for.
