Angry Upgrading the firmware on a BEFSR41 Linksys router

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware on my router, and Linksys's website talks about using tftp to upgrade it, which i dont have. i tried ftp and sftp and no go. Also, the upgrade through the browser doesnt wanna work either.

any suggestions?

care to share? were you able to update using a linux box?

it turns out i was trying to use Ver.3 firmware, when my router was the BESFR41 v.2.

the Linksys site said to use a tftp command, but I dont have the tftp command on my system. so I did it via web browser at the router IP address.
