SNMP Linux

Hi all, I have enabled SNMP on my Linux (SUSE 9)server and am able to read various MIB info. I cannot however see stuff like CPU usage and Memory usage. I dont think there are MIB's for these things. Anyone have any hints as to where I can get good info on monitoring Linux/Unix servers using SNMP?
Cheers
Phil

I use MRTG for that, I get cpu usage, memory usage and TCP connections all graphed.

Check these sites:

http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/

http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/l...g-advanced.htm

good luck.

Hi fillthy,

leosgb is correct, MRTG can be used very effectively for monitoring. However, if you are trying to monitor your box with another monitoring tool (like solar winds) you will need MIBs.

You can install MIBs for everything you want -- if that is the case, check out these sites:

http://www.midcoast.com/~jp/snmp.html
http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=SNMP

There is a lot of good info and downloads to help you get started.
