SNMP and Linux. Please Help

Hello everyone,
I'm writing a program to fitch information from a hardware using SNMP protocol. The hardware has AGENT++ installed in it. I'm wondering how would I be able to get these info. Should I download SNMP++ in my computer and use the library or do I need something else? I'm a little bit confused because in their webpage, it said that the hardware should have booth the SNMP++ and the AGENT++. Can anybody please tell me what should I do? and if there is another way to do it.

Also after downloading the SNMP++ and wrote my code,I tried to compile and it is looking for <windows.h>???. and I'm using LINUX.

Thanks
Alaa G
