hi all,

i "accidently" erased the default smb.conf file that was in the /etc/samba directory because i thought that the smb.conf~ file was the backup of the original instead it was the backup of the current file ie the file i changed ........ does anyone know how i can get the orignal back?

Do you mean you had the "default" config?

The time to get to a minimal config is not that great - check out the examples directory under SAMBA distribution - lots of good info.

Don't forget swat makes it very easy to do a config....

Check your *swp files.
