SAMBA questions

OK, it got at least two of the computers on my hub talking to each other via SAMBA!

I can view the networked directories through the “network” item in the “”Computer” desktop
icon in FC2. All good so far, but I need to mount a folder on a server as a local directory.
How is that done with SAMBA? I know you can do this with NFS, but can you with SAMBA?

I’ve tried to fun NFS, but with no luck. If SAMBA is turned on, will that supersede NFS and prevent it from functioning?

samba and nfs are completely different services and can coexist fine. When you mount just use the filesystem type "smbfs". You can also use smbmount:
man smbmount

Thanks for the help David,

I was able to get the networked drive mounted to a local directory using smbmount after dong a google search, but I wouldnt' have known what to search for otherwise. Thank you very much!

I made some progress today. I finally got the FC2 boxes to talk to the Win98 box as well!!!!
