Samba Questions

Hi all! Just a quick question here.

I have the Etch build of Debian running on my Ultra 5 and was wondering how I could circumvent my Windows 2003 SBS box from giving me the dreaded login box whenever I go to map a network drive on my Linux box?

am i getting your question right here?
is the share located on your win pc or is the share on your debian install

if the share is on debian:
create a samba account with the same details (user/password) of your windows box!

How did you get ur 'Etch' build, I looked for it but could not find it.

I tried, but I just went round in circles. I'm looking for either the net install, or the full 2 DVDs (or CDs). Anyways, I carry on trying

debian.org -> getting debian -> downloading as you install -> Minimal CD -> 3rd bullet: Debian Installer Page -> CD-images -> i386 -> current -> debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso

just reading :-)
i could not find that stuff untill i understood what to do with black squigely things on white background either :-)
