Network problem


m unable to access internet through firefox or anyother browser but the device eth0 is active, and when ping the website m getting the echo
why i am unable to access the internet? do i need to do any changes? i changed the X11org.conf for the display settings it may be the problem?when my display was 800X600 i accessed the internet whn i changed to 1240x1280 now it is not accessible? give me the solution?

Please write clearly, your question is very hard to follow.

If you can ping a website (like www.google.com), your browser should be able to pull it up, regardless of screen resolution. If Firefox is in offline mode, you'll have to put it online, before you can browse, regardless of the status of your interface. Have you tried any other browser, like Konqueror?

You also don't say anything about what message(s) you're geting, or what version/distro of Linux you're using, or give any real details, so it's hard for people to help you.

As i am a Newbie to the Linux , i cant explain the problem as a professional , but i will try to explain more clean as i m getting familiar with Linux , thnx for ur rep
