Network Printer
Hi everybody,
Here is my problem. I am using the Mandrake 8 on my workstation, I
connected it to the NT domain of my company. I am trying to set it up to
be able to print my stuff... but I am going through some diffculties.
First I created a directory /var/spool/lpd/LexT610, including a file
config containing these lines:
server = PDC1
service = LexT610
password = mypass
user = SYSkappJ
I edited the following line in /usr/bin/smbprint in order to enable my
user account on the PDC1:
/usr/bin/smbclient "\\\\$server\\$service" $password -U $user -N 6P
>>$logfile
Then I edited the /etc/printcap:
LexT610:\
:cm=Lexmark Optra T610:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/LexT610:\
:af=/var/spool/lpd/LexT610/acct:\:mx#O:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:if=/usr/bin/smbprint:\
Finally, here are is how my samba is set up:
printing = cups
print command = /usr/bin/smbprint %p %s
lpq command = /usr/bin/lpstat -o%p
lprm command = /usr/bin/cancel %p-%j
queuepause command = /usr/bin/disable %p
queueresume command = /usr/bin/enable %p
I cannot print at all... using Kword it says "no valid executable was
found" and Netscape crashed when I try to print (with the command lpr -P
LexT610).
Could anybody help me? thanks!
