network card detection problem

hi,
i use FC6. whenever i try to initialize the network i get the msg :

device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

and then fails to start it.

let me tell that the network was working fine until a power outage. i had to change the smps. the mac address of the NIC got changed to 00-00-00-00-00-00 somehow . i know that this is an invalid mac address but its working in windows. it uses via-rhine. i tried detecting it again with kudzu but iam not able to re detect it. maybe iam doing something wrong.

how do i get the network working again in FC6.

thanks.

Just a footnote: I have had some problems with one board of my that has via rhine chip, but haven't actually got far in solving the problems, which seem to be ACPI-related (or related to the interrupt sharing under heavy network load). A temporary solution for me has been booting with pci=noacpi and irqpoll.

Cool

YOU might like to see the data in YOUR BIOS on the Motherboard. It may look different after the outage than it did before. Only YOU will be able to see YOUR settings. Write down the settings YOU need from the internet. Compare them to the settings YOU see in the BIOS. Try to get them as close to the requirements to YOUR hardware needs as YOU can. Tweek and Fudge.
