Is snort included in FC3?

I don't know, but maybe I can show you how to find out ...
There are several (command line / terminal) ways to locate a command:
* locate
* find
* whereis
* which
They all have their strengths & limitations -- RTFM's.
In your case, I think the most useful would be whereis:
Code:
$ whereis snort
snort: /usr/share/man/man8/snort.8.gz
As you can see, I apparently have only the man pages installed.
If it (snort) not already installed, then use rpm or a GUI tool to do so:
and look for the options that allow you to double check what is installed. If snort isn't there, then find, download, & install the appropriate rpm. If you are using KDE, I recommend KPackage if you want a GUI tool. However, the odds are that you are using Gnome because one of the few things I know about RH/FC is that they default to Gnome. To reduce brain clutter, I have not yet tried to learn that yet. I am sure if you need Gnome GUI package management, someone else can point to the name of the appropriate application. (Please google etc. first.)
Hope this is at least a little bit helpful.
