I've got a friend who I've just moved to PCLinusOS 2012.01 LXDE and he uses 2 ways to connect to the internet
- 3G USB Dongle
- DSL
His 3G connection works OK, but the DSL connection keeps changing it's settings. There's a little bit of history here: When I was setting up his laptop, initially I installed the DSL (PPPoE) connection (well actually it's a Kyocera iBurst modem) which he connects to via an RJ-45 cable from his ethernet connector, connected and worked fine. I then wanted to update his PCLinuxOS installation and thus setup a new connection with the "Wired (Ethernet)" in the "Network & Internet Configuration" so as to be able to connect to my LAN which uses DHCP.
Now the problem is, when he's connected to the internet using the iBurst, the connection keeps going down (disconnect) and IP numbers, DNS, etc., shift to those of my LAN (even though he's not connected to my LAN in any way). This also happens if I manually disconnect his PPPoE connection.
How do I go about removing every possible config info about my LAN?
ps. I've also tried deleting the Wired (Ethernet) device using the tool "Remove a connection" in the "Network Center".
