integrated censornet functionality

(sorry about poor thread title, just not really sure how to express what I need...and in fact the title makes very little sense )

Hi,

I was looking at censornet as a web filtering solution for home, and it is exactly what I need (blacklisting, internet access limiting, website logging, actually most of the features). However, I don't really have a spare computer to install it onto. So, does anyone know the programs (squid?, dansguardian?, iptables?) which censornet uses, so that I could install and configure them on my current server?

Thanks

How about virtualization?

I don't. If no one else has an exact answer just use your imagination: search LQ for threads on CensorNet (and ask one of those users), or D/L the iso (less than 200 megs) and mount it/run it in Xen/Qemu/VMWare/whatever else, or ask in the CensorNet fora or ask CensorNet for a .deb package list. Most likely you will want the iso because I think it's not the packages that are interesting but what changes CensorNet made and how they configured it.

At least it makes *much* more sense compared to those that read "help" or "I NEEED TEH HELP" or "HELP MEH PLEEZE".

thanks for the reply - I've gave VMWare a go before and got a "Cannot find IDE drive" sort of error, so I'll give Xen a go.

Thanks

As you need to fully emulate a PC for installing Censornet with a boot CD.
I would go with VMWare. But Censornet (mainly due to Dansguardian) is very resource
intensive, so be aware of the slow performance.
