I am unable to find any good howto's on how to set up identd. I want to set it up on my server so that I dont have to switch the forwarding settings on my router to the single pc that i can run mirc on at a time. So in short I want to setup identd on my server then be able to "spoof" the other computers identd's to the server.
Not sure how clear I was. If this doesnt make sense please let me know.

There's one interesting thread:

But you don't need identd. Really many routers/firewalls block ident calls, but users can use irc.

There are lots of irc servers which do not allow you to connect if you don't have identd running. Almost every reasonable ident server allows you to spoof all the information. Which is a good thing to do since you don't want to be giving out information about your internal machines. I use oidentd which is in IMHO a very good ident server.

I find Pimpd a good indent daemon... very easy and well documented.

works both on inetd and xinetd
