Question Ftp

I am attempting to setup auto-login for FTP, and for the most part FTP is working fine. Example, from the Linux server I am able to auto-login (FTP) to two different servers, but on the reverse side, coming from either one of the two other servers I cannot login to the Linux server. The message I receive refers to an incorrect password. The password I supplied in the .netrc file on both systems are correct, and I believe I have the correct entires in the Linux server host, host.allow files. Any pointers on how I can get this working will be appreciated.

Look into your server logs. You should get have the message saying what was wrong: passwords, IPs or something different.
With the default setting is to put ftp server messages to you /var/log/messages.

Thanks for your help. I checked the messages file and was able to correct the settings that was giving me fits. The problem resided in the host.allow file. Apparently I needed to comment out the "deny" line(s).
