Ethernet controller: Attansic Technology Corp. Device 2062 (rev c1) is not detected
Recently my pc mother board has failed. So I replaced it with G41D3c main board. It supported windows xp.
I have dual os. ubuntu 8.10.i386 is available. When I try to restart the system and go to ubuntu, the ethernet light on the modem is getting off. So I feel that ethernet card is not detected.
I followed the forum and tried to list the device as
"Ethernet controller: Attansic Technology Corp. Device 2062 (rev c1)"
I tried to install alt1c driver also but in vain.
Can any body help me in this regard.

How do I get ubuntu 11.04.
Since I got windows xp connected to internet broad band, Whether it will be of any use in this matter. How to do it.

You could download the CD or DVD image in XP, then burn the image to a disc. Perhaps to save time, see if there is a net install image. It will be only a few megabytes, and if your ethernet device works with the netinstall image, it should work after installation.
In the meantime, if you could run in Ubuntu the commands "lspci -v" and "lspci -n" and post the information about your network device, we might be able to tell what kernel device is used, and if firmware is needed. Your device might not be supported by your kernel. Especially if the device was released after your version of Ubuntu. Upgrading Ubuntu would be an easy way to also upgrade the kernel.
And the outcome for the command lspci -v is as below
outcome for lspci -v
