Does LISA automatically try to access Dfs on a Win2k machine?
Trying to use LISA in KDE on a Linux system running Samba 2.2.8 to access
Win2K shares. I can smbmount the shares and see them in Konqueror and can
see the shares (even the hidden and Admin) if I use smb:/win2k.
However, I get an unknown error if I try to access (view) the share contents.
Examining network traffic, I see the following in one packet:
Tree Connect AndX Response (0x75)
Word Count (WCT): 3
AndXCommand: No further commands
Reserved: 00
AndXOffset: 48
Optional Support: 0x0001
.... .... .... ...1 = Search Bits: Exclusive search bits supported
.... .... .... ..0. = In Dfs: Share isn't in Dfs
Byte Count (BCC): 7
Service: IPC
Native File System:
I don't think I have Dfs setup, since I am only running a workstation not
a domain server. The LAN setup is very simple employing LMHOSTS on
both the Linux box and the win2k box; no WINS.
Why would Samba be looking for Dfs?
