dns problem when connecting with pppoe-start

hi,

i have used to configure an internet connection the plugin rp-pppoe.

And ran the scripts pppoe-setup and pppoe-start. It results in the message connected to internet.
But if i ping google.com i got "unknown host".

I have read thats maybe problem with resolv.conf and checked that but its an empty file. I dont knew how to add the nameserver in this file because it should be done by dhcp.

p.s. i am sitting on an G4 PowerMacintosh 1 GHz. If anyone can give me some hints it would be appreciated.

resolv.conf should contain your dns info. if you are connected and there is nothing there then i would say you dont have any dns info. my guess is there is no dns info being passed. i would bet that if your hard coded in dns info for say opendns into the ethernet connection that it would work. i would start there.

by the way, i would not add it to resolv.conf. i think there are other processes that add it to that file.
