I have a wireless g card and a 10/100 ethernet card on my laptop, but only the wireless card shows up (as eth0). how do i create a new interface (perhaps eth1) for my ethernet card?
ifconfig -a only shows the wireless card (eth0) and loopback
By the way, I have the bnx2 (Broadcom NetXtreme 2) and ipw2200 (Intel Pro Wireless 2200) drivers compiled as kernel modules, and both are loaded in successfully.
Looks like Intel Pro100. Next output of dmesg|grep eth0, dmesg | grep pro100 and lsmod. And that's how far my knowledge probably goes for now. Somebody else can probably tell you have to get it up.
