Creating custom interface builder

I am generally a Mac OS X user, but this is not an OS X project. For what I am working on now, interfaces are made with a custom scripting language. It would be nice to be able to use a drag and drop interface builder like in OS X.

I think that the easiest way to do this would be to change an open source interface builder's output to the scripting language for interfaces I am using.

Does anyone have any advice what interface builder to start with? I know of GORM, but I know that there are others. I'm open to any suggestion, but being cross platform and being written in C (/C++/Obj. C) or Python would be ideal.

Hi,

Have you tried glade? With glade you can create your interface and then export it to C/C++ (and I think also Ada), but even better: you can save it as an XML file and then use libglade to construct your interface "on the fly".

There are binding for almost every language and it should be portable as long as there is a version of GTK+ for the target system.

For instance, I use it with Mono and can run the GUIs in Linux and Windows.

Thanks. Glade looks like it is a good option, but I don't think my post was very clear. I cannot change the (proprietary) interface language I am using. I'm pretty sure I am going to have to modify an interface builder to output the interface language I am using, and since I think it has fewer options than GladeXML, I am going to need to alter the application in other ways.
