could not open a session for other user
Hi All..
Actually i am a newbie to linux .... I am doing a practical on deleting passwd and shadow files and again recovery back with the help of shadow- and passwd- files respectively...
in this practical i removed both shadow and shadow- files and to recover these files i run "authconfig" command . .. and then me got those shadow files back... this is the practical done by me so far..
After some time ... when iam trying to authconfig command again then i got the message like "unknown error" then I suddenly restart it... .. during rebooting i found that gdm.pid /gdm user is missed from /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf go and check through configuration file and restart using gdm-restart command...
me not having such amount of knowledge to configure the above file ... that's why i gone through single-user mode and run " authconfig " from there once again... and i started with init 6 command.. now it is able to login as root...
my problem:
when i am trying to login as different user from terminal through su command then it says the following message
" could not open session"
any help would be appreciated ....
thanx in advance..
