Configuring Apache web root

I'm attempting to get apache running to share some school files with fellow students. I attempted to use KPF, but it didn't work from any other computer (I could go to localhostort and it would work but any other computer, even inside the network, didn't work)

So I compiled and installed apache 2, and it is running. But when I go to localhost:8080, I get 'You don't have permission to access / on this server' I'm sure that this is a simple permissions issue, but I'm completely stuck.
any help would be appreciated.
Kevin

Never mind on this question. I had forgotten to open the firewall port for KPF. Opened it and all is well.
