Hi.. i have written a small c programe that reads the IPDiscards value..... I am trying to find the best way for checking if my code works fine.. I want to find a way to change the value to the snmp server. But still i dont know if this is possible... Can u plz shed some light on this issue?
Thx a lot
you have a c program which outputs something to somewhere? as long as you have that, you should be able to use the standard net-snmp daemon to update it's values without much problem. You can easily change your snmpd.conf to run any command you want and provide the result as one, or a series of, MIB's. e.g "exec /usr/local/bin/script" within snmpd.conf will cause that to be executed each time the relevant MIB is read, i blieve the oid range will be under .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021
Yes i have a simple program in cd that justs takes the integer value of dropped packets... IPDiscards i think... What i need to do is to change this value.. .but plz help me a little more because i dont know how to change it
