Deiner script zieht toll aus, when es ein teil vom einer distro wirt werde ich es benutzen.
Translation into English by framp:
'You script looks pretty good. When it's included in a distro I'll use it.'
Thank you very much for the compliment. But why does it have to be included in a distro? You can download and run it on every distro to get help and to collect network information.
Are you shure this will fix the problem? AFAIK this might delay TCP traffic if you don't have an ISP supporintg IPV6 ... but this shouldn't stop any web browsing at all (You also can disable IVP6 in FF ,,,)
disabling IPV6 worked however I can get a page to load but it takes forever I am talking 5 minutes to load a page! How do we fix this!BTW I really want to thank you and the rest of the people helping to get me through this. I am totally lost when it comes to working on a linux machine but I am learning!
I am an admin and very security minded, as a rule i mistrust unknown sources.
That means that i find running complex scripts a potential dangerous thing to do.
Yet in the hands of a fool rm -r -f can be as dangerous.
I am getting connected to the web but I am not getting the pages to load and after 200 seconds the system resets the connection is dropped. The error message is "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading". Any suggestions on how to solve this issue!
Framp this has to be in my settings I can type gg.kde into Konqueror and it loads a webpage http://wwh.found-no-help.com/search?go=gg.kde and the page loads immeadiatly with results from the search with multipal pages on Yahoo search. But if I try to click on a link I get the timed out error. the error from your script is CND0220E. When I went to you website it said the error was in the network settings or cable or network driver. The cable is fine because this machine is a dual boot with XP and Suse. XP works perfect on the web. How can I get a new network driver.
Thanks again

Yes, I agree with you. I also wouldn't run a script as root on a production system.
The target audience are Linux beginners who have network problems and it's now used by them for more then 2 years successfully. In addition its target are people who want to help to fix network problems and don't want to post various times questions like - post this - reply ... post this - reply ... post this -reply ...
Frankly, I expected a lot of security concerns like yours when I published the script. But you are the first one put this fact on the table because it's a valid concern.
I don't want to be blamed because my script killed system. That's why all commands executed are just inspection commands and don't change the system at all (Some file housekeeping is done...).
Thanks everyone for all of the help. I found and corrected he problem. The NIC was working but it was dropping packets. I installed an old NIC card that I had laying around and set it up with Yast. now I can use the Internet and by the way it is a lot faster than when I use WinXP. Thanks again to All who posted there suggestions.
