Can somebody point me to the RFC...

I don't think this is o/t. If so, apologies in advance..

I know there is an RFC that describes best practices on naming the null host and the common http host for a domain (in English, I am looking for the RFC that says you are always supposed to have a responsive 'domain.com' if you have a responsive 'www.domain.com'

I looked in RFC 1034 and 1035 - can't find it there. I know I have read this before, but it is tough to define the right search terms and I figure I might get a reponse from the gurus lurking here.
