Hi, i am new in linux. I have a bsnl broadband connection and my modem is SmartAX MT882. The modem is connected through an USB port and is working well with windows. But i am unable to setup the internet connection in linux. I use Mandriva 2006. So plz someone tell me how to configure the linux to get net connection active ?
I have no way to change to the LAN connection from the USB because there are some problem related to the LAN cable supplied to me. So plz give me any solution involving the USB connection.
i don't believe there is a usb driver at all. an ethernet cable costs next to nothing and gives you a *REAL* network connection. usb connections are just nonsense and are just going to give you annoying problems.
ok. then i will buy one lan cable surely and many many thanks to you for your suggestion. And I will ask you again later if further problem will arise.
