Apache Proxy Server

I just found out that apache can be used as a proxy server. Currently I am using squid and have authentication based on an external_acl that i pass the source and destination addresses.

Is there a way I can have mod_proxy use an external script and pass it these values?

Thank you for any help.

Once i get it install with that, how would I do authentication based on an external script? Thats the main thing I am trying to figure out.

In squid it is just a script that takes parameters and returns either ERR or OK.

Maybe this would be helpful.

Results 1 - 10 of about 132,000 for apache auth program. (0.53 seconds). It links off the first returned row. Google is your friend

mod_proxy won't use it directly, it'll be plugged in to your access controls.
