Compton freezes the desktop

Hi,

I have a Nvidia graphic card, and I use the Nvidia driver.
When using compton, this one freezes the desktop randomly when I select an item and do a "drag and drop".
The only way to get out of this freeze, is to go to another tty, and then come back to the graphical one.

I noticed that using only marco or metacity whitout compton "solve" the issue.
Using compiz is fine too, no problem.

I need to use compton because of tearing problems.
So..Is anyone in the same situation ? Can you reproduce the problem ?

Hi, sevenyears, and welcome to LQ.

Have you tried upgrading your kernel to the latest supported by Mint? (you can use Mint's Update Manager to do this)

You haven't provided info on your Mint version or desktop environment.
