FYI I dug in pulseaudio's logs and saw this line:
Code:
pulseaudio[3266]: [bluetooth] bluez5-util.c: Transport Acquire() failed for transport /org/bluez/hci0/dev_00_1B_66_A6_8C_D2/fd0 (Input/output error)
Then a quick search pointed me to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...d/+bug/1577197 Look at post #53. The user is reporting also issues when changing Youtube videos. In my case, only pausing a video, changing or closing the window will either make bluetooth totally collapse and require a driver reload (modprobe) and repairing, or pulseaudio will act up and try blowing up my speakers.
Seems there are severe bugs in pulseaudio and from what I read, it really doesnt play well with bluetooth. This program seems to get a lot of hate online...
Spent almost 6 years on slackware, and left because time available to debug, compile, fiddle and just make things work (instead of simply installing and get going) became less and less available. Since I notice a steady drop in overall reliability with Ubuntu (and derivatives like Mint), I may go back to Slack. Things just worked, and were simpler, but the amount of elbow grease to get going became just too much... Just the idea of not having a package manager seemed to me so ancient but maybe thats the way to go in the *nix world?
