Some more thoughs: Hardware related.

I've just been reading this thread about palladium, so did a little more reading myself.

I can't believe what they're proposing. Why not have Bill just sit next to me slapping my hands when I look up "gecko" in google? I mean he's basically saying "we'll make things very easy for you, because we won't let you do anything that you want to unless we watch you do it".

If this platform is going to actually be placed within the hardware itself maybe its time the linux community took the reigns from M$, pushed them off the cart, and spurred the donkeys on as fast as their little legs will carry them.

I've heard talk of new motherboards with a form of linux used instead of, or in conjunction with, a BIOS. With hardware such as this, maybe the linux community should push towards systems specifically designed for linux? I'm not saying linux should ignore other architectures, or be designed specifically for this architecture. I'm suggesting that the architecture should be designed specifically for linux. Sort of like apple, but not at apple's prices.

Again, comments appreciated.

As an additional thought, palladium will also have an impact on Apple. Which means that most of the companies which produce for Apple, including Adobe, will be affected.
