I am using Kanotix and am looking to change some of the parameters set by the start up scripts. Unfortunately, I am rather new at all this and don't know where to find them.

I have been informed that /etc/X11/xorg.conf contains much of what I am looking for.

I am attempting to change the sensitivity on my Trackpoint (IBM R40) in the boot/startup process w/o having to edit

/sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio0/sensitivity

every time that I boot into Kanotix.

Is there anyway to set the values for the files in

/sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio0

during startup?

I don't know how to fix your issue with the trackpoint, but FYI, most of the startup scripts are located in /etc/init.d/.
