Hi all.
I installed Fedora Core 2 (kernel 2.6.5-1.358) from the distro Cds and everything was working fine. I upgraded and installed the latest kernel available through up2date, and on reboot it got stuck on the X slash screen. On killing the X (Alt - Ctrl - Bkspace) there were errors on the console, something like Esound - alsa etc etc...

When i boot into the older kernel via Grub, sound works.
When i boot into the new kernel, sound doesnt, and the sound card isnt detected either.

How do i get about having all the functionality of the older kernel, modules, devices etc into the new one.
