2.6.8-1.521& Wacom Graphire3

I ran accross a tutorial that had me re-build my current kernel. Actually I have no idea how to do this I just followed the instructions.

Well, it killed my 2.6.8 kernel, my old 2.6.5 kernel is still available so I decided to boot into that kernel. Things work great with the wacom tablet under the 2.6.5 kernel but none of my nvidia drivers do not work.

So. My goals:
Fix the errors in 2.6.8 build
Have wacom tablet work under 2.6.8
Fix Nvidea drivers under 2.6.8
Fix all load errors such as the eth0.

The errors:

"No rule to make target arch/i386/Kernel/msr.c Error2"

also, my eth0 card fails on booting kernel 2.6.8 now all over the place.

Kernel stops building, I tried the "make install -k" option and still it fails completely. I am not sure that the location I am running the command are correct.

If someone could help out as soon as possible that would be great.

Oh, I was also wondering if there is a way I can just re-build from the 2.6.8 source files. I have downloaded all source files but have no idea where the make file is. It says its in the BUILD folder but I try the command and I get nothing. I installed the RPM packedge available for the source with no errors. Do I need to compile other parts of the kernel before compiling the full kernel? Is that why there is no make file in the BUILD folder?

For those who come accross the Graphire3 driver problem. I have solved just about all issues involving this.

THIS IS for 2.6.8-1.521 Kernel Build - must be a rpm install from 2.6.5-?.??? previos install.

IF YOUR COMPILER DOES NOT WORK DO THE FOLLOWING.
1: Install the drivers as the documentation tells you. But do not compile your kernel.
2: Now, make sure you have a backup kernel so you can boot into that kernel and re-install your rpm for you 2.6.8-1.521kernel.
(NOTE: you are going to uninstall your kernel 2.6.8-1.521 and then reinstall it)
3:
WARNING, THIS WILL RENDER YOUR COMPUTER UNUSABLE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANOHTER KERNEL INSTALLED!!!
type:
#: su
password
#: rpm -e kernel-2.6.8-1.521 (if you have a custom kernel and you dont know what it is, type: rpm -q kernel)

NOW REBOOT, AND THEN LOAD INTO YOUR OLD KERNEL

Now, download and install the latest kernel rpm, available in any distro for FEDORA websites under kernel-2.6.8-1.521.rpm

install your rpm:
cd to your downloaded rpm (automatic install with RH alert notification also works instead)
rpm -U kernel-2.6.8-1.521.rpm

Now, configure your xorg.conf file as discribed in the documentation, mine looks like this:

your MAKEFILE should be in the root dir of where you unzipped the source. So, if you unzipped them to /usr/src/2.6.8 your makefile would be at /usr/src/2.6.8/MAKEFILE

Oh, and you say in your Howto:
rpm -U kernel-blahblahblah.rpm

This will remove your current kernel in favour of the new. It is reccomended you always keep the kernel that came with the distro, even if you don't use it, as you can rely on it to work 100% (supposedly). You should use:
rpm -ihv kernel-blahblahblah.rpm
