ndiswrapper make os freeze

I installed ndiswrapper to be able to use my intel centrino wlan on a Dell 510M (with fedora core 2, kernel 2.6.7.) Problem is that whenever I load the driver (iwconfig wlan0 essid "something", and dhclient wlan0) the os freeze after short time and I have to reboot using the power button.
Have anyone experienced the same problems, or point me in the right direction to solve this?

I find I have the occasional hard lockup or kernel panic associated with using ndiswrapper. As the versions have slowly ticked up, so have my problems slowly gone away. Now I find I have a few annoying bugs but it's usable.

Have you upgraded to the latest version? I have found 0.9 to be more stable than the previous versions with my setup. Apart from that, perhaps if you post on the ndiswrapper forums one of the developers might be able to help you.

Yeah, I have the latest version, 0.9, of ndiswrapper. The problem did not go away when I upgraded to version 0.9. It's strange because sometimes I can have the driver loaded for quite some time, while sometimes it's just a question of seconds before the system locks up. Any, and I mean any, help on this one is greatly appreciated!

Hey, there is a release candidate of 1.0 out on the ndiswrapper project page. Might be worth a try?

ndiswrapper

have you tried ipw2100?

i used to use ndiswrapper on my centrino-laptop, but after upgrading to 2.6.7 kernel, ndiswrapper kept crashing on boot.

ipw2100 works just as well, just have to get used to use eth1 instead of wlan0
