Starting from the start - Fedora Core 3, kernel 2.6.10-1.766, using a USR 22Mbps wireless PCI card (USR2216) and running ndiswrapper 1.0. The card signature(?) is 104c:8400, which is a Texas instruments chipset, and I'm using the driver recommended here
Quote:
Card: Trendnet TEW-301PC, a.k.a. D-Link DWL-520+
Chipset: TI ACX 100
pciid: 104c:8400 Windows
Driver: trendnet.com/en/asp/download_manager/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=249&SUBMIT=Go#. WPA is not supported by this driver. D-Link's drivers are available from their web site but do not work me on kernel 2.6.8.1, ndiswrapper 0.10.

Amazingly enough, I also tried a second card, an AirPlus Dlink DWL520 and it had the exact same chipset, and the exact same problems.
Basically, everytime I try to use the card after installing the driver, the kernel freezes, and i have to reinstall it all over again. I have yet to use my card *at all*.
I downloaded the .766 kernel with 16K stack - no difference, recompiled it to turn off SPINLOCK - no difference, tried Kwi-fi instead of dhclient - no different.
I don't know if the problem is with ndiswrapper or not, as that runs ok, and the system log confirms it. But as soon as I attempt to use the card to connect to the web, the system stops. It can connect to the AP, but no further.
Has anyone had similar problems? Or suggestions? I've been trying to resolve this for over a week, with no result whatsoever. Cheers!
edit: whoops - guess this really belongs in the wireless forum! can a mod move it for me? thanks.
